My Comment: They are investigating all sorts of alternatives to the current natural and petroleum based rubber solutions including dandelions and regular trees. But, as you can imagine it is very expensive, but, gets competitive when each tire starts costing $20 over what it normally does.

Trees and SABIC .. where have I heard that before? Oh yea, SABIC paid 900,000 credits to Kengen (KENYA). So, let me get this straight, "rich" nations pay poor nations money to plant trees, companies such as SABIC pay carbon credits to have trees planted, they then buy those trees and turn them into rubber compounds, to sell back to the USA in tires at an inflated cost? Wonderful.

So, SABIC and Kenya benefit, the USA tax payer pays more for a tire, what a deal!

So, Obama passed a tax tariff on tires almost unnoticed, that made the Chinese angry, to hike up tire prices to protect unions and tire and chemical OEMs, which raises the price on the lower tier tires that poor people buy, and then Stimulus money was used to pay for R&D (Global) for an unproven product, and the end result will be jobs and products sent overseas and not created here. QUISLING!
