CA: $12.8 Millon (ARRA Grant)

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District: $5.86 million for preventative maintenance.

• Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority: $2.68 million preventative maintenance.

• Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board: $1.03 million for preventative maintenance.

• Gold Coast Transit: $3.20 million to remodel operations facility, paratransit operations and bus stop enhancements.

CA: $9.2 Million (ARRA Grant)

The following grants are being awarded:

• City of Montebello: $4 million for the purchase of a CNG fueling station/underground fuel tank modifications, a customer information system, and facility improvements.

• Municipal Transportation Agency. County of San Francisco: $4.5 million for preventative maintenance.

• The University of California at Santa Cruz : $125,000 for the purchase of paratransit vans through the SCMTD.

• Napa County Transportation Planning Agency: $157,658 for preventative maintenance.

• City of Santa Rosa: $312,865 for the purchase of one hybrid low-floor replacement bus.

The grant provides ARRA funding for a wide variety of capital project improvements including construction of a new walkway at the Balboa Park station; installation of new auxiliary power supply equipment on thirty railcars; new coverboards over the electric third rail; replacement of cables in the Transbay Tube; replacement of worn-out vehicle interiors and reconfiguration of interiors for improved passenger circulation; installation of between-car safety barriers; and preliminary work on a wheel truing machine.

CA: $9.4 Million - Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (ARRA Grant)

The bulk of the funds, a total of $8.6 million, will be used to refurbish a San Francisco Bay ferry boat. The rest of the grant to GGBHTD will be used by the Marin County Transit District, which will receive $250,000 for an automated vehicle location system to be installed in up to ten vehicles, $250,000 for a data management system, and $360,000 for mobile data terminals to be installed on its paratransit fleet.

This grant will provide funds for a number of San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency transit-related capital projects, including recondinging doors and steps on nearly 150 light rail vehicles, preventive maintenance on buses, maintenance and replacement of light rail track switches, replacement of inductive loop cable on the subway, new change machines and fare collection systems, and renovation and maintenance of various facilities.

CA: $48.3 Million - San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (ARRA Grant)

Funds will be used to update transit vehicles with new carpeting and seat cushions, replace essential electrical service from PG&E to stations, construct a mainline crossover at Pleasant Hill, and replace the anodes and anode cables that prevent corrosion of the TransbayTube. The funds will also be used to construct a walkway at Balboa Park station with automatic fare collection equipment, lighting, security cameras and a new entrance plaza connected to ADA-accessible walkway to Ocean Aven
