The city of Chicago, that cesspool of corruption and violence received through the Federal Transit Administration at least $321.40 million dollars.

Much of it to purchases new buses and vans. The USA is BROKE and this is money borrowed from our grand children's future with the dollar about to collapse. Traitors!

IL: $1.5 Million - Chicago (TIGGER Grant)

The Chicago Transit Authority will use the $1.5 million grant to construct electrified stalls that will deliver electrical power to approximately 80 buses and provide heating and air-conditioning to vehicles during overnight cleaning and prior to morning pullout. Without the electrified stalls, the buses would be left to idle during that time.

IL: $60.3 Million (ARRA Grant)

Grants are being awarded as follows:

• Greater Peoria Mass Transit District: $4.2 million for the purchase of 28 buses.

• RTA Suburban Bus Division: $33.1 million for the purchase of 58 buses, 190 paratransit vehicles and 76 support vehicles for Chicago and Roundlake.

• Danville Mass Transit: $891,527 for the purchase of two biodiesel buses and lot upgrades.

--------• Springfield Mass Transit: $2.5 million to purchase seven buses.

• Bloomington-Normal Public Transit System: $2.4 million to construct a bus facility.

• Madison County Transit District: $5.5 million for the purchase of 15 buses.

• The State of Illinois Department of Transportation: $11.5 million for the purchase and distribution of 74 30-foot paratransit buses, 24 vans, shop equipment, transit

technology, and preliminary engineering.

IL - $46.6 Million - Metra, Chicago (ARRA Grant)

This grant will provide funds for Metra to rehabilitate bridges on the Electric and Union Pacific North lines. These federal funds also provide Metra the ability to replace fiber optic cable on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe commuter rail line. The installation of new fiber optic cable on the BNSF line will support voice and data needs and provide essential signal and communications information.

IL: $240.2 Million - Chicago Transit Authority (ARRA Grant)

These grants from two separate FTA programs in the amounts of $191.3 million and $48.9 million will fund bus purchases, preventive maintenance, subway rehabilitation, and the renovation of rail stations and support facilities. CTA plans to replace as many as 58 60-foot hybrid diesel-electric buses; replace aging and deteriorating components of the Blue Line Dearborn Subway in central Chicago and to renovate bus, rail, and support facilities throughout the CTA system. CTA also plans to renovate rail transit stations, including Cermak-Chinatown and Logan Square.
